Ooshie was created in Brooklyn, inspired by women who live boldly, love deeply, and carry themselves with quiet power.Founder Melissia wanted to create resortwear that was elevated but not stiff, expressive but still easy. "I wanted beauty without restriction. Freedom without losing sophistication". Ooshie is her love letter to women. It’s a tribute to our strength, our softness, and the many ways women show up in the world. Ooshie Resortwear is for the woman who wants to feel beautiful and completely herself, wherever she goes.
Every piece is intentionally designed to bring joy, ease, and beauty into your everyday. Our signature caftans dresses, and jumpsuits are cut from natural, sustainable fabrics and brought to life with hand-designed prints. Produced in small batches to preserve the uniqueness of every piece and to honor the individuality of the women who wear them. In a world of fast fashion and sameness, Ooshie stands for something more personal. Small batch production allows us to stay close to the process, to ensure every detail feels considered, and to create designs that won’t be everywhere, so you can feel like yourself, not everyone else. Meet the Founder
The Heart & Soul Behind Ooshie: Melissia Hill
Melissia's path to design started with a passport and a curiosity about the world. During her travels living in South Africa, Paris, and Milan, working in fashion she immersed herself in global culture and style. These early adventures sparked her love for color, and the way clothing can tell a story, laying the foundation for what would become her signature approach to resortwear.
But Melissia has never considered herself a conventional fashion designer.
“I’m more of an artist and a motivator,” she explains. “My goal isn’t just to make beautiful clothes. I want to inspire women to live boldly and express themselves fully.”
With a deep love for travel, natural beauty, and holistic wellness, resort wear emerged as a natural and intuitive path. Ooshie was born from her desire to create pieces that radiate joy, spark confidence, and embody effortless elegance, no matter where life takes you.
Today, Melissia is known for her signature mix of timeless silhouettes, vivid prints, and a thoughtful approach to sustainable design. Every Ooshie collection is crafted with intention, blending fashion with meaning. Pieces that feel good, do good, and help create lasting memories, one colorful moment at a time.
We begin with nature’s finest fibers. Breathable cottons, airy linens, and biodegradable blends, including thoughtfully sourced recycled polyesters. Our fabrics are chosen not only for their beauty and drape but for their ability to return gently to the earth.
